Dimensions, Specifications and Application Positions of Fused Cast AZS Bricks

Due to the temperature gradient and compositional segregation that occur during the casting of fused cast AZS bricks from melt to cooling and forming, it is difficult to uniformly release and completely eliminate the thermal stress and structural stress of the castings during the annealing process. Therefore, the dimensional specifications of products with different grades are subject to certain restrictions. If the dimensions and specifications exceed the allowable range, the products are prone to cracks during kiln baking and the initial stage of production.

  1. AZS-33 has good castability and can be made into irregularly shaped bricks with complex structures, which are mostly used in the superstructure of melting furnaces.
For products made by ordinary casting (PT) and inclined casting (QX), the height should not exceed 1500mm, with a standard cross-section of 400mm×250-300mm. The height of non-shrinkage cavity (WS) products should not exceed 1100mm.
  2. AZS-36 can be made into various straight bricks and simple irregular bricks. Large-sized bricks can be produced through quasi-non-shrinkage cavity (ZWS) and non-shrinkage cavity (WS) casting methods, and they are mostly used for furnace walls.
For products with a standard cross-section of 400mm×250-300mm, the suitable height is 800-1600mm, and the maximum height should not exceed 2000mm.
  3. AZS-41 can be made into various straight bricks. Large-sized bricks can be produced through non-shrinkage cavity (WS) and quasi-non-shrinkage cavity (ZWS) casting processes.
For quasi-non-shrinkage cavity (ZWS) products with a standard cross-section of 400mm×250-300mm, the suitable height is 800-1600mm, and the maximum height should not exceed 2000mm. They are mostly used for the furnace walls of melting furnaces with large output.

For non-shrinkage cavity (WS) products with a standard cross-section of 400mm×250-300mm, the suitable height is 900-1600mm, and the maximum height should not exceed 2000mm.
Due to the absence of shrinkage cavities in their internal structure, they have good corrosion resistance and are mostly used in throat channels, charging port corners, bubbling areas, and the furnace walls of glass melting furnaces with high output or high production efficiency.1
